The AN/SPY-1 is a Lockheed Martin/RCA shipboard S-band phased-array radar, the sensor core of the Aegis Combat System, mounted on the USS Princeton. During the 2004 Tic Tac event it produced multi-day tracks of objects descending rapidly from very high altitude. It matters as the high-fidelity radar evidence underpinning the Nimitz case.
