Claimed extraterrestrial commander first channeled by Van Tassel (18 July 1952), later expanded by many channelers into the 'Ashtar Command' mythos. A purely claimed entity; the name predates the movement in Theosophical literature.
[CLAIM] Van Tassel described Ashtar as 'chief/commandant' of intergalactic forces, received via telepathic/ESP 'resonance'. [DOCUMENTED] The figure was appropriated by other contactees (e.g. Robert Short, who split off to form his own 'Ashtar Command'); the name 'Ashtar' appears in Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine (1888), and the mythos drifted - after failed prophecy - from a physical space-fleet averting nuclear doom toward a Theosophical Ascended-Master 'Ashtar Sheran' aiding spiritual ascension. No evidence the entity exists; it is a channeling/New-Age tradition.
