Bhattacharya/Nolan et al., 'Whole-genome sequencing of Atacama skeleton shows novel mutations linked with dysplasia,' Genome Research, 22 Mar 2018 (Stanford + UCSF). 6-inch Chilean specimen rumored alien (Sirius doc); WGS (Illumina HiSeq ~11.5x) showed a modern HUMAN female, Native-American+European ancestry, with mutations in COL1A1, COL2A1, KMT2D, FLNB, ATR, TRIP11, PCNT explaining small stature/rib/cranial anomalies. Definitively terrestrial/human; ethics critique raised re: handling of the remains.
