A trait cluster (Wilson & Barber 1983; ~4% of people): extraordinarily vivid 'as-real-as-real' fantasy, high absorption/hypnotizability, and frequent paranormal experiences.
Modulates susceptibility to constructing an abduction narrative. Robert Baker's key point: experiencers are 'not psychotic, not crazy - just a little different,' with suggestibility the operative factor. As an explanation for abduction reports it is a competing-explanation; the trait research itself is documented.
