Anglican missionary William Gill and up to ~38 PNG mission witnesses watched a disc with humanoid figures over two nights (26-27 Jun 1959); figures seemed to wave back. ~25 signed a statement.
Among the strongest multi-witness entity cases: a credible clergyman observer, ~38 witnesses, contemporaneous notes, and ~25 signed statements - all documented. The famous waving exchange and flashlight 'response' are claims, but exceptionally well-attested. J. Allen Hynek re-interviewed six witnesses in 1973, who corroborated Gill. Skeptical Venus and squid-boat explanations fail to account for the figures or the interaction.
