Larson AFB (formerly Moses Lake AFB), near Moses Lake, Washington, was an Air Defense Command base whose stated primary mission was protecting the 'vital Hanford atomic works' and Grand Coulee Dam. It flew F-82, F-94 and F-86 interceptor patrols and was later renamed Larson. It documents the dedicated air-defense posture built around the Hanford plutonium site during the early Cold War.
