At a 2.5-hour House Oversight Committee hearing on May 23, 2024, Reps. Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna questioned Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm about UAP/drone incursions over nuclear facilities. Granholm acknowledged 'drones that may be nefarious' and a 'whole counter-drone effort,' said 'I have no knowledge' of reverse-engineering crashed craft, and answered 'Yes' to working with JSOC / counter-terror entities. Luna cited 1940s-50s nuclear-site incursions 'definitely not drones' and the April 1, 2021 Lawrence Livermore incident, then submitted 9 written follow-up questions to DOE.
