On 27 Sept 2010, Robert Hastings hosted the 'UFO-Nukes Connection' press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC (streamed live by CNN), at which seven USAF veterans - Robert Salas, Charles Halt, Bruce Fenstermacher, Dwynne Arnesson, Patrick McDonough, Jerome Nelson, and Robert Jamison - described UFO incursions at ICBM sites (Malmstrom, F.E. Warren, Walker AFB) and the RAF Bentwaters Weapons Storage Area from the 1960s-1980s. Centerpiece accounts included the 1967 Malmstrom missile shutdowns and Col. Halt's Bentwaters/Rendlesham account. Hastings advanced his thesis that visitors signal humanity to abandon nuclear weapons; skeptic Benjamin Radford called it a rehash without new proof.
