The idea that a rhythmically pulsating luminous output could be functionally tied to propulsion - assessed for feasibility. General insight holds; specific fit to a silent featureless sphere does NOT.
Advanced propulsion tends to be PULSED for real reasons (energy storage + burst release, air-breakdown thresholds, thermal duty-cycle, rectifying an AC cycle, resonance) - so 'pulsating' is roughly what propulsively-hard work looks like. BUT for a self-contained + silent + no-exhaust + large sphere, no demonstrated mechanism survives all constraints: Lightcraft needs an external beam, plasma/MPD thrusters need exhaust, nuclear/PDE are loud, EHD-at-scale is undemonstrated. Honest verdict: MUNDANE-FIRST - an illuminated aerostat/aircraft-lights/flare/arc/mirage through haze is more feasible here than exotic propulsion.
