Order of the Solar Temple (1984-1997).

documentedsource_actorContactee & UFO Religion

Neo-Templar esoteric order led by Joseph Di Mambro and Luc Jouret; 74 members died in murder-suicides 1994-1997 believing they would 'transit' to the star Sirius.

[DOCUMENTED] Real secret society founded 1984 in Geneva; blended neo-Templarism, Rosicrucianism, Theosophy and New Age ideas. Di Mambro was true leader; Belgian homeopath Luc Jouret (1947-1994) was spokesman/recruiter. [DOCUMENTED] 30 Sep-5 Oct 1994: 53 members and ex-members died in Morin-Heights (Quebec), Cheiry and Salvan (Switzerland) by shooting, poisoning, suffocation and arson - including the murder of the infant Christopher-Emmanuel Dutoit, branded the 'Antichrist'. Further deaths followed: 16 in Dec 1995 near Grenoble, France, and 5 on 22 Mar 1997 (spring equinox) in Canada - 74 total. Di Mambro's 'Testament' letters and a recovered tape (in which leaders said 'Waco beat them to the punch') are documented. [CLAIM] Doctrine of 'transit': suicide was reframed as a non-death voyage to acquire 'solar bodies' on the star Sirius (alt. Jupiter/Venus); members spoke of being collected 'by a flying saucer' - a UFO-adjacent rather than explicitly extraterrestrial cosmology.
