The "Official UFO Night of Brazil" (19-20 May 1986) saw as many as 21 unidentified objects tracked on CINDACTA air-defense radar over the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro region, prompting the Brazilian Air Force to scramble Mirage III and F-5 fighters. Pilots reported visual and radar contacts they could not identify. It is one of the most significant officially-documented military UAP events, acknowledged in a public press conference by the Air Minister.
