Alfred Burtoo / Aldershot Abduction (1983).

In the early hours of 12 August 1983, 77-year-old angler Alfred Burtoo, fishing on the Basingstoke Canal at Aldershot, said two ~4ft beings in pale-green coveralls and visored helmets led him into a craft, asked his age, then told him he could leave as he was 'too old and infirm for our purpose'. His dog Tiny was the only other witness.
Alleged: notable as an abduction that was declined. No physical evidence and no human corroborating witness, but researchers including Timothy Good (Above Top Secret) and his widow Marjorie attested to his sincerity. Investigated by Omar Fowler's SIGAP after a local-paper appeal. Burtoo died in 1986.
