Alan Godfrey / Todmorden Abduction (1980).

On 28 November 1980, Todmorden police constable Alan Godfrey reported a large diamond/disc-shaped craft hovering over Burnley Road, followed by a burst of light and finding himself 100 yards farther on with possible 'missing time'. A swirled dried patch was noted on the wet road. Under later hypnosis he recalled small beings and a humanoid figure aboard.
Alleged: a real, experienced officer with partial corroboration (a Cliviger driver and a Halifax patrol reported brilliant lights at matching times), but the abduction content emerged only under hypnosis, an unreliable memory technique. Media-linked to Godfrey's earlier discovery of Zigmund Adamski's body. The episode damaged his career and life.
