November 2021 DoD coordinating body that succeeded the Navy UAP Task Force and was later renamed/expanded into AARO.
Created to coordinate identification of objects in special-use airspace, overseen by an executive council (AOIMEXEC) co-chaired by USD(I&S) and the Joint Staff Director of Operations. FY2022 NDAA 1683 then forced its expansion, and DoD renamed it AARO on July 15, 2022. It is the intermediate link between the UAPTF and AARO.
