Five-month wave of silent triangular-craft sightings across Belgium (29 Nov 1989 - Apr 1990); SOBEPS logged ~2,600 written statements.
The Belgian UFO Wave was a mass-sighting episode from roughly November 1989 through 1990 over Wallonia, in which thousands of people, including gendarmes, reported large silent black triangles with corner lights moving slowly at low altitude. On the night of 30-31 March 1990 the Belgian Air Force scrambled F-16s after radar contacts. It is a documented and heavily investigated wave; the most famous 'Petit-Rechain' triangle photo was admitted decades later to be a hoax, and the radar returns are debated, leaving the wave unexplained but with no confirmed craft.
