On the night of 30-31 Mar 1990 the Belgian Air Force scrambled two F-16 fighters after ground and NATO radar reported unidentified tracks during the Belgian UFO wave. The jets recorded several brief, erratic radar locks but got no visual confirmation, and the radar returns were later attributed in part to artifacts and atmospheric effects. It is a documented intercept, frequently cited as a high-quality radar case despite the inconclusive outcome.
