$100M, 10-year SETI program launched by Yuri Milner and Stephen Hawking; the largest radio/optical ETI search to date; all data public.
Announced 20 Jul 2015 at the Royal Society, run by Berkeley SETI Research Center. It bought 20–25% of time on Green Bank and Parkes plus the Automated Planet Finder for optical laser searches, targeting 1 million nearby stars and 100 galaxies. It surveys 10× more sky, 5× more spectrum, 100× faster than prior efforts, and releases all data openly. It produced the BLC1 candidate (later ruled RFI) and observed ʻOumuamua for radio emission.
