Strieber's #1-bestselling memoir; a documented book whose abduction content is claim, credited with mainstreaming the Grey/'visitors' image.
Communion: A True Story is a real, massively successful 1987 book (the artifact is documented; its abduction content is a claim). It alternates Strieber's analysis with hypnosis-session transcripts and partial corroboration from his wife and houseguests. It reached #1 on the NYT nonfiction list in both hardcover and paperback and was adapted into a 1989 film starring Christopher Walken. Neurologist Steven Novella attributed the waking-paralysis core to hypnagogia.
