Investigative journalist and folklorist at Sheffield Hallam University; associate professor and contemporary-legend researcher. Curated The National Archives' MoD UFO release (2008-2013, ~210 files / 60,000 pages) and recovered/published the Calvine photograph in 2022.
Clarke (b. 1967), PhD in English Cultural Tradition and Folklore, acted as media consultant for the Open Government transfer of MoD UFO records to The National Archives. He co-authored 'Out of the Shadows' and 'How UFOs Conquered the World', treating UFOs as modern myth. He first saw a Calvine photocopy in the 2009 release, then tracked down the original print held by Craig Lindsay in 2022. He founded Sheffield Hallam's Centre for Contemporary Legend.
