The 'screen-memory'/MILAB hypothesis holds that some alien-abduction accounts are covert behavior-modification experiments descended from MKUltra, using psychoelectronics, hypnosis, and false memories, with UFO mythology as cover for the program's 'disposal problem.' Its only solid grounding is genuinely-documented MKUltra memory/hypnosis research (and lab studies showing abduction-style memories can be induced); the inference that abductions ARE mind-control operations is speculative. The most sensational online figures (e.g. 'Subproject 58 implanted abduction memories in 80% of subjects') are uncorroborated and should be treated as fabricated.
