The RAAF Official UFO Reporting Desk was the Royal Australian Air Force's formal channel for receiving and filing public UFO reports until it ended the practice in 1996, after which the records went to the National Archives of Australia. It matters as Australia's institutional UFO program; like other national air forces it catalogued reports without endorsing extraterrestrial conclusions and eventually judged the issue not a defense threat. Several landmark Australian cases passed through it.
