On 19 January 1966 near Tully, Queensland, Australia, cane farmer George Pedley reported seeing a craft rise from Horseshoe Lagoon, leaving behind a circular mat of swirled, flattened reeds (a "saucer nest") floating on the water. The RAAF investigated. Explanations are disputed between a natural cause (a willy-willy/whirlwind or floating debris) and a genuine craft; it is a documented physical-trace case from the same 1966 Australian wave as Westall.
