This node represents the joint Soviet sponsorship of anomalous-phenomena research by the USSR Ministry of Defence and the Academy of Sciences. From roughly 1978 the two bodies ran the long-term 'Setka-MO' (military) and 'Setka-AN' (academy) programs systematically collecting reports across the Soviet Union. Much of the data was reclassified as missile/rocket-test sightings, but the programs are real and documented.
