Contractor engaged for Project Twinkle that operated Askania cinetheodolite (phototheodolite) tracking cameras at Holloman AFB. Land-Air personnel ran the cameras during the 24-hr watch begun Apr 1 1950; after a significant phenomena spike over Holloman in late August 1950 the Land-Air contract (Askania cameras only) was extended six months to Mar 31 1951. The single movable station nonetheless repeatedly failed to capture the fireballs.
