Montauk Project lore (time travel / mind control).
allegedunderground_baseBlack-Project Lore
Discredited claim of time-travel/mind-control experiments at Camp Hero/Montauk AFS, linked to the Philadelphia Experiment via 'recovered memories.'.
Originating in Preston B. Nichols & Peter Moon's 'The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time' (1992), the lore alleges secret time-travel and psychological-warfare experiments at Camp Hero / Montauk Air Force Station, said to 'interlock' with the 1943 USS Eldridge event on 12 Aug 1983. It rests entirely on Nichols' and Al Bielek's 'recovered repressed memories,' contains flat impossibilities (meeting the already-dead John von Neumann; a 120-year-old Tesla running operations), has no declassified support, and is characterized as fabricated by RationalWiki and the decade-long Bielek-Debunked project. Montauk AFS was a real radar station (1951-1981) with no record of such work. Cultural legacy: inspired Netflix's 'Stranger Things.'.
