The Montauk Project is an alleged series of secret U.S. government experiments in time travel, teleportation, and mind control said to have taken place at Camp Hero / Montauk Air Force Station on Long Island, New York. The story originated largely with Preston Nichols and Al Bielek in the 1980s-90s and is widely regarded as fiction/hoax (and an inspiration for 'Stranger Things'). Camp Hero is a real decommissioned radar base, which lends surface plausibility.
