The Valensole case is a documented French close encounter of 1 July 1965, when lavender farmer Maurice Masse reported a landed egg-shaped craft and two small humanoid entities in his field on the Valensole plateau. He described temporary paralysis, and the site later showed stunted plant growth investigators sampled. It is one of France's most-cited CE3 cases and influenced the founding of official French study bodies.
