Aerial Phenomena Research Organization, the Tucson civilian UFO group founded and led by Jim and Coral Lorenzen. Bennewitz was a member and William Moore sat on its board for Special Investigations - which made APRO the target conduit for the AFOSI/Doty disinformation operation. APRO genuinely received the anonymous Weitzel letter (Jim Lorenzen rebuked its unauthorized release). The organization disbanded after Jim Lorenzen's death (Aug 1986) and Coral's (April 1988).
