William L. Moore was a UFO author (co-author of 'The Roswell Incident') and APRO board member. At the 1989 MUFON conference he publicly admitted that AFOSI/Richard Doty had recruited him to spy on fellow researchers and to feed disinformation to Paul Bennewitz, in exchange for promised access to government UFO secrets. His confession is a key piece of evidence that parts of 1980s UFO lore (Dulce Base, MJ-12, Aquarius) were deliberately seeded disinformation.
