Dulce 'underground war' lore (1979 firefight).

discreditedunderground_baseBlack-Project Lore

Claim of a 1979 human-vs-grey-alien firefight (~60 dead) in a joint underground base under Archuleta Mesa, NM; no physical evidence.

The 'Dulce Wars' allege a 1979 firefight between humans and grey aliens in a jointly-operated underground base beneath Archuleta Mesa near Dulce, NM, leaving ~60 humans dead. It grew out of Paul Bennewitz's disinfo-fueled beliefs, was elaborated via Thomas Castello's unverifiable 'Dulce Papers,' and was popularized by Phil Schneider, John Lear and Bill Cooper. There is zero physical evidence (no bodies, casings, or records of 60+ dead soldiers). Michael Barkun places the firefight/abductee-experiment claims 'well outside even the most far-fetched' underground-base reports; Cold War missile sites and the real 1967 Project Gasbuggy nuclear test lent superficial plausibility.
