The National Institute for Discovery Science was a Robert Bigelow-funded private research organization (1995-2004) that conducted the first sustained scientific study of Skinwalker Ranch and other anomaly reports. It assembled scientists and used instrumentation, prefiguring BAASS. It matters as the precursor that established Bigelow's private-science approach later scaled up under the AAWSAP contract.
