Real 9 Jan 1953 Battelle memo by H.C. Cross ('Pentacle') urging delay of the Robertson Panel and large-scale UFO experiments.
Written by Battelle's Air Force liaison H.C. Cross under the codename Pentacle, the memo recommended postponing the upcoming scientific panel pending controlled experiments and coordinating what Project Stork and ATIC would disclose. Jacques Vallee discovered it in Hynek's files in 1967 and named it. Its significance (improper Battelle influence vs. routine reference to Special Report No. 14 work) is debated.
