Battelle was engaged in 1951 by Edward Ruppelt to make the Air Force UFO study scientific. It designed the standardized report form and ran the punch-card statistical analysis that became Special Report No. 14 (1954). Also a leading titanium/NiTi metallurgy lab, the basis of the contested Roswell memory-metal claim. Documented contractor; UFO-custody beyond Blue Book is unproven.
