Betty and Barney Hill were a New Hampshire couple who, on the night of 19-20 September 1961, reported being abducted by humanoid beings while driving on Route 3 near the White Mountains. Recovered under later hypnosis, their account became the first widely publicized UFO abduction case in the United States and shaped the entire abduction genre. It remains alleged, supported only by testimony.
